First In-Person Teaching In Two Years!

Exhilarated, yet exhausted:

First in-person teaching in two years.

Substituted in two classes today.

I have missed working with students in the classroom.

By the way, I was able to pull out my 1991 notes--yes, 1991, from grad school--for teaching June Jordan's powerful essay, "Nobody Mean More to Me than You and the Future Life of Willie Jordan" from 1985. And, in preparing to teach an essay that I hadn't taught or reread in 30 years, I realize that I have learned quite a bit in all that time, and I am much better at getting the students to see what matters and how the nuances support what matters.

Also, Jordan makes all that easy

A fun, fine day.
