Clay Games Continued
Silly Horse. Next stop: the kiln for the glaze firing.
The neck was too big for the head, but now the new neck may be too small for the shoulders. Getting proportions right takes more practice or more attentiveness than I have at present.
Next step: hair and ears in the right places.
And, below, I think this eye will work, but I am not sure.
My favorite word--garsecg--from the Old English Beowulf is a kenning or poetic riddle-word for the sea. It means "the spear-man," perhaps the echo of a figure like the Norse Aegir or some other surly northern Neptune. In other texts, garsecg seems to be an adjective meaning "sea-like," "stormy" or "tempestuous."
