Childhood favorite, Formative Te

The Velveteen Rabbit may be the first story that really taught me something special about the power of literature.

I recall as a young boy being deeply confused by this story that I loved, for reading it made me both very sad and very happy at the same time.

Dorothy Dunnett Day -- By Zoom?

Dorothy Dunnett Day is the second Saturday in November.

Plenty of time to pick up a bottle of her favorite whisky, Highland Park, an Orkney distillation, to toast her memory.

I think the Society will have a Zoom meeting on November 13th.

(Contact me if you'd like details.)

Oxford in the Rain

Perfect reading for a rainy day -- and any day, for that matter.

Harriet Vane in Oxford.

Lord Peter Wimsey in the wings . . . .

I'm on page 211 and can't quite remember the plot, happily so.
