On my quick jaunt up to Ft. Bragg and Mendocino waters--sea-caves!--I have been ruminating on the "fish out of water" motif in mystery/crime/thriller fiction, and I may have some thoughts to share in the next few days. Right now, tired from two great paddle sessions the last two days, I'm just looking at Frankie on the beach and thinking, "Water-time, beach-time: all good."
